Kia ora koutou,
The NZSTA Board has called a Special General Meeting of NZSTA member boards, to take place by Zoom on 7 November, 2020.
As we advised on Thursday 3 September the Annual General Meeting scheduled for Saturday 5 September failed to reach the quorum of 10% of all member boards (197 delegates). This means the AGM was not able to proceed.
As required by s18 of the NZSTA Constitution, the NZSTA Board met on 5 September to carry out the tasks and responsibilities of AGM 2020.
The NZSTA Board has therefore called the Special General Meeting for 7 November 2020 to ratify the Board’s decisions.
Representation and voting procedures will be the same as those established for the 5 September meeting, as required by the Constitution. This means that any proxy votes assigned for the AGM will be enacted by the appointed delegates at the Special General Meeting.
If the number of delegates at the Special General meeting is again under 10% then the only business it may conduct is ratification of the Board’s decisions.
You can find the NZSTA Constitution on the NZSTA website.
